Another ImageBrief Sale…
Although I see quite a lot of dissatisfaction about Image Brief on various forums, I still enjoy looking at the briefs (of which there seem to be a lot these days) and thinking about which images might fit the requirement. Many briefs seem to expire without any award, and some take a long time before anything happens. I was surprised to see an email yesterday with details of a new sale – an image that I must have submitted months ago – I don’t recall when it actually was. The award was for $250, of which I get $175, and it is an image of Gadsby’s Tavern in Alexandria, Virginia:
That makes three awards for me now – two in 2014 and one in 2015. Details of how to join are in this earlier post about Image Brief
Good luck with your own entries!
Congrats on another sale, this is motivating to try. But I need to ask, did you get paid account or using free and is it worth in your opinion to pay 500$ (?) per year?
Best.
Thanks! This is from the free account. They keep asking me to join premium, but I can’t see how it can be worthwhile when the number of sales remains low and sporadic. Unless it is a very expensive sale, then you would end up making nothing if you had to pay $500 each year.
I’ve just been working on the submission for tickets on a wooden table on Image Brief and have submitted 10 to that. Keep my fingers crossed (for months…)
Steve
So many of the briefs in ImageBrief seem to go unfilled. I recently had 3 photos shortlisted which cause me great excitement, but then all 3 briefs were closed without an image being selected. As you can imagine i was extremely disappointed!
Yes, I know what you mean. I take a laid back approach now – if I see something that I can submit to without much effort I do. If I see a concept that I haven’t shot before then I might create those images and submit them, knowing I can later use them for RF. Then I just wait and see what happens.
