Best selling stock photos in February 2011
I’ve started to show the images that made the most money in each month together with any comments on why it may have been successful. In February, I had a couple of Enhanced Licenses from Shutterstock which I think means that someone is making a product to resell. The first one was of a traditional scene from Yosemite Valley taken from the Tunnel overlook as you enter the valley. Nothing particularly remarkable about the shot – it was taken in May and so the waterfalls are in full flow, and I think it would make a nice calendar shot:
The second one on Shutterstock was of a Buddha statue I photographed in Italy in a small pond – very relaxing image and one that shows that a good stock photo doesn’t have to be of a dramatic scene:
Although February was a good month overall, no individual image besides these two went for a significant amount – here’s hoping that March will be better!
