Dr. Martin Luther King Monument

One of the advantages of being in Northern VA (apart from the earthquakes) is the closeness of all the monuments in Washington DC. So, I got up early this morning to be first in line for a tour of the new Martin Luther King monument that has opened by the side of the Tidal Basin. I managed to get some shots of his grandson (Martin Luther King III) who was touring the site before it opened to the public and I have uploaded those to Alamy to see if there is an opportunity in editorial stock. All these images are probably subject to copyright of the sculptor, and so I have only uploaded the photos to Alamy so far (trying to get some large value sales before the President opens the monument officially on Monday), and have joined a “citizen news” site called Demotix that offers stories and images to the main news outlets and returns 50% commission. Depending on interest, I will then put them on the sites that accept editorial images (Shutterstock, iStock, 123RF and BigStock). The full set of images of the Martin Luther King monument can be found on my fine art site.
