Earnings from selling digital photos – June 2012
A very good month. I’m not sure how many posts I can make starting with those words, but June has blown all previous months out of the water and is up almost $150 over my May total to end with around $1750. I say around, as two sites are still down from the major storms in Northern Virginia last night – YayMicro and Cutcaster and so I can’t update the earnings from those two sites.
So, what was good about June? Shutterstock continued its steady earnings – I now get 38c a download as I have passed the milestone of $10,000 in lifetime earnings. I got 5 Enhanced License downloads in June and 7 single downloads of varying amounts. All told, Shutterstock came in at $605. Veer is often a very variable site for earnings, but this month I had an image that sold for $99.75 for unlimited reproduction, Multi-user, resale rights – the most I have ever earned on that site. Here is the image:

Photocase is a very strange site – I only managed to get 3 images online, but one of them – a dolphin statue in Mazatlan – seems to sell from time to time. In June, I had one sale of that image for $58!
Some of the other sites are also doing well now – 123RF at $106, helped by a large sale of my favorite bengal kitten!
However, the star of the show this month was Alamy – with five sales to net a total of $248, to bring the last three months earnings to $650. After months when I used to get nothing from the site – this is really nice to see. I have tried much harder to get my keywords accurate and put some important relevant ones in the “main keywords” section, but I am not sure that is the answer to my success. I just hope it will continue! As an example of what sells on Alamy – this one sold for a net amount of $100:
Here are my normal graphs – I’ve continued to upload regularly, although had more rejections from Shutterstock than normal this month, which is disappointing!
