Latest Enhanced License download on Shutterstock
As I discussed last month, the Enhanced License download on Shutterstock makes a big difference to monthly earnings. I started to publish the images that get selected for an Enhanced License to see if I can see a pattern in what sort of images is attractive to a buyer for these more expensive licenses – $28 to the contributor. Here are the June EL Downloads:
This first one is probably an easy one to explain – the image is nicely sized for a calendar, and is the sort of shot that you can imagine in a set of seasonal images.
Second download in June was one of my favorites – a dawn image of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC with the cherry blossoms in the foreground. I think this could also be a nice poster, calendar or postcard – perhaps I will see it somewhere!
This third one is a little difficult to explain – an image of a senior man mowing a large lawn. All I can think is that a large circulation magazine (perhaps a DIY or gardening magazine) wants an image to illustrate and article?
Fourth for this month was a good seller from the past – the team in an inflatable raft going down the rapids in reverse. Again, not an obvious one for a Enhanced License – any ideas?
My final one (hope to be proved wrong as I have 2 days to go yet!) is this shot of red wine being poured at a crazy angle into a glass. I was proud of this shot, but its use for commercial purposes or large print circulation is not very obvious to me. One day I will see this in print, I suppose!
