Luminar4 adds new features

I do wonder if this is “fiddling while Rome burns”, but Luminar 4 has a new update (4.2) which has added some interesting features to the base program – particularly in terms of adding things seamlessly to the sky that you may have just replaced. I’ve written about my experiences with replacing skies in previous posts. I played with it a little and added some clouds to an otherwise blank blue sky in this image (together with some sun flare because of the position of the sun when I took it) and it does a pretty good job and adding realistic clouds.

This was the original:

As with the sky, it skillfully avoids any buildings or trees and so is a pretty easy way to add something to improve a featureless sky. You can also add a moon, airplane, and other things from your own portfolio, but I haven’t played much with it so far.

I believe this is a free update if you already have the program. If you are interested in purchasing the program for the first time, here is a link that gives me a small commission, but you can also use my coupon code “BackyardSilver” to get $10 off the cost.
