New Presentation on Making Money from Photography
I gave a presentation on stock and fine art photography to my local Camera club in Austin, Texas, back in May and had great plans to record the audio and then convert the presentation into a video for a wider audience. I had purchased a little lavalier microphone and it was ready to go into my phone to capture the audio cleanly. But in the 10 minutes prior to taking the stage, it wouldn’t work and so all those plans faded away.
I’ve now joined ElevenLabs and am hoping to license my voice to others to narrate their webpages or maybe even their books, but what I can use my account for is to narrate my own text. So, this past couple of days, I have been writing down what I would have liked to have said in my live presentation, and then converting that to audio using ElevenLabs.
The presentation lasts about 20 minutes and covers a broad overview of how to go about making money from photography, in particular covering stock photography and then branching out into how to sell prints from your work to hopefully counteract the declines in earning per download that we are all seeing from the stock photo agencies.
Making the presentation then only took a few hours in Premiere and the video of it is now live on YouTube. I hope you find it useful and perhaps entertaining!
I’ve got an idea that I might be able to monetize this YouTube channel, so if you want to see more videos like this, please subscribe to my channel.
As always, comments are very welcome! And if there is something you would like to know more about, please let me know.

Hi, Steve, great informative post as always. Is it free on Eleven labs to record your own voice and then use it for narrating on YouTube?
Sorry – I keep missing these comments. You need to have at least a basic account with ElevenLabs.
