Premium – the end of Premium?
I will be the first to admit that I have found Stock Photography less interesting in recent months and have been struggling to identify new trends coming up. As a result, my own uploads have diminished – perhaps 10 images last month! But my ideas for this Premium membership group have been lacking as well, I have thought. As a result, I think it best to close this initiative. If you wish to cancel your regular payment, just go to “Membership” in the menu above and you will see the word “Cancel” under your membership details. That is all it should take. If you want to continue to support this site, I’m truly grateful and honored!
But I can’t stop myself from collecting ideas for new concepts and I will continue to write about them as they come to me. There are a few things that might become potential subjects for stock imagery that I will mention here. The first is quite tricky but I think will become a more regular subject in the months to come. The rise of teenage depression and mental issues. I don’t have any particular concepts in mind, but I think something that highlights this without focusing on one particular person could be a good opportunity.
An easier one perhaps is the announcement by Apple that they intend to build a “Tap to Pay” feature into their phones so that you just need to tap a card reader with your phone instead of using a card. This will come out later this year, but there is plenty of opportunity to mockup some screens and get tapping if you have an iPhone.
I still think there is a lot of opportunity to illustrate the end of 3G networks, especially if you have an older flip phone. I do sell my “poor” attempts at illustrating this and my simple pictures of cellphone towers do well. So, there is room for more imagery there, I think.
I’m sorry this is so thin, this month. On to better times with my print photography perhaps!
Oh m, you losing interest in stock is worrisome
I know – perhaps once I start traveling again I will get my mojo back!
That maybe is still worth at your commissions rate but the other day I had a customer download 52 images of my town and at .10 c each I got enough back for a one cup cappuccino at the local coffee shop
