World record downloads on Shutterstock (for me…)
I had my highest number of downloads on Shutterstock yesterday – 35, including two “on-demand” images. I think it was a combination of interest in some of the old Abu Dhabi images, and a new set of photos from the Smoky Mountains that were accepted around lunchtime. Shutterstock has a way of sorting images so that the newest ones show first, and I think that accounts for the bump in downloads when you upload new photos – in this case, about 10 of the downloads were from images available that day. It’s unfortunate that the week then ended, as a whole new set of images from other photographers will be uploaded over the weekend, and buyers are few and far between. I also reworked one of my Cherry Blossom photos to brighten up the flowers and remove some out of place branches and that was downloaded twice during the day:
