Microstockr Pro now handles Getty/iStock

There was an update to Microstockr Pro last night that added support for the new Getty/iStock ESP reporting system. I reviewed Microstockr Pro in the past and find it a really useful way to keep a daily track of what is selling on the various sites. It is currently free for desktop users. The latest release picks up the details of the sales of individual images from the ESP site and shows those with thumbnails in the appropriate months:

Of course, the application can only

take what is on the Getty site and so this is restricted to the previous month’s information which is normally posted on the 20th of each month. However, the application is storing all the files that were picked up from the old iStock site if you were using the system for that agency. I must admit I’m not sure if that would work if you are new to Microstockr now – please comment if you know.

My system is still downloading information after about 12 hours, so don’t expect instant results, but once it is synchronized, I will be able to set off the automated matching of images across all site to be able to see which are my best performing images taking all the supported sites into account – very helpful to see if recent shoots are worth the effort.

Great little application for keeping track of your results!

  1. Thanks for your mention, Steve.

Microstockr Pro stores the old iStock sales only for users that have been using the application throughout the Beta. The new users will have only access to what’s provided on ESP(last 2 months). Nothing we can do about that I’m afraid.

If they decide to make that data available in the future we will collect it then.

    Cheers and thanks!

Installing and optimizing this sounds like a great project for the weekend. After photography, of course.

[…] pretty good sales via Getty mixed in with the lower value sales. As I mentioned a week or so back, Microstockr Pro now shows you the images that sold day by day on iStock once they have released the sales stats on the 20th of each month, so it is great for seeing what […]
